Mayor Spinello and Sanitation Recycling Supervisor Douglas Poncet Proudly Unveil Glen Cove DPW’s new Single Stream Recycling Trucks
Glen Cove, NY, November 6, 2015 – (Pictured Left to Right) Glen Cove’s Department of Sanitation (DOS) staff Chris Comintino, Chris Larice, Cezary Duda, Derek Morra, Mayor Spinello, Jerry Morales, Gerald Apricio, and DOS Supervisor Doug Poncet introduce Glen Cove’s new Single Stream Recycling Trucks. These new additions to the Department of Public Work’s fleet will support the City’s Single Stream Recycling program. The recycling imitative launched in August, 2015, has already shown Glen Cove’s commitment with recycling participation increasing by over 28% since the programs launch. “The City receives $5.05 per ton of recyclable materials collected through this program so the uptick in participation is going to result in cost savings for the City. The more our residents recycle with our “All In. One Bin” effort, the more money the City can save while reducing the waste sent to our landfills; now that’s what I call a win-win situation,” Mayor Spinello said.
