Boys and Girls Grades 3 through 9 Invited To Register; Sponsors Welcome

Glen Cove, NY, October 22, 2015…The City of Glen Cove’s Department of Parks & Recreation invites boys and girls in grades 3 through 9 to register for the 2015-2016 basketball season. Games will begin the week of November 30th and extend through March, 2016. Children will participate in one game and one practice session per week and games will be held at a local elementary school with start times between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. New for this year, there will be three girls’ basketball clinics that will be held on Fridays – November 6th, 13th and 20th at 6:30 p.m. The cost of this opportunity for girls to improve their games skills is included in the program’s registration fees. “Each year the children who participate in our Jr. Basketball program enjoy a rewarding experience as they learn new game skills and the importance of team work and good sportsmanship,” said Darcy Belyea, Director, Glen Cove Parks & Recreation.

Registration fees are $80 per player or $145 per family (children must be siblings within the same family). Interested families can register from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Glen Cove Parks & Recreation Office in City Hall, 9 Glen Street, Room 206. Cash, checks and money orders only and checks can be made payable to the City of Glen Cove. Registrations forms are also available online at www.glencove-li.us and payments can be mailed to Glen Cove Parks & Recreation, 9 Glen Street, Glen Cove, New York 11542. Glen Cove residency is not required to participate in this program.
