City of Glen Cove to Host E-Waste Collection Day on Saturday, September 19th
September 11, 2015…One of the most popular questions received by Glen Cove’s Department of Public Works (DPW) is, “how do I dispose of my old television?” That question will be answered on Saturday, September 19 when the City of Glen Cove sponsors its bi-annual E-Waste Collection Day.
Glen Cove residents can dispose of televisions, VCR’s, stereos, electronic games, printers, fax machines, computer monitors, hard drives, keyboards, mice, cables, cell phones and pagers by bringing them to the collection area at 100 Morris Avenue from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 19th. Microwaves and other small household appliances are not accepted for E-Waste collection but residents can call DPW to schedule a special pick-up during Wednesday’s metal collection day.
“This is a great service provided by our Sanitation Department in partnership with Winter Bros to help our residents manage electronic waste and old technology,” said Mayor Reggie Spinello. For more information, please call DPW at (516) 676-4402.
