GLEN COVE, NY, August 14, 2015- Glen Cove Mayor Reggie Spinello, Nassau County Legislator Delia DeRiggi-Whitton and a representative from Senator Carl Marcellino’s office with the Glen Cove Housing Authority are holding a special ceremony to honor Olympic Gold Medalist Howard Davis Jr. for his outstanding achievements and long-standing commitment to community service on Tuesday, August 18^th at 4:00 PM. (rain location is Glen Cove City Hall)

The ceremony, hosted by the Glen Cove Housing Authority, will be held at 140 Glen Cove Avenue in front of the mural dedicated to Davis and his late father Howard Davis Sr. In 2007, the City of Glen Cove named a street after the Olympic Gold Medalist. The street that bears Davis’s name is located near the mural location.
