May 14, 2015… Mayor Reggie. Spinello (pictured left) was presented with 13 American Flags today by Brian Mercadante (right) on behalf of the Glen Cove Rotary Club. The flags, representative of America’s original 13 Colonies, will be flown on the flagpoles at Heritage Park (Danis Park) in time for Memorial Day weekend. This Glen Cove Rotary Club tradition began 14 years ago to honor Glen Cove’s veterans and the new flags will replace the current ones which will be properly retired. The flags will be installed by the Glen Cove Department of Public Works prior to the Memorial Day weekend.
