GLEN COVE RESIDENTIAL REHAB PROGRAM SEEKS SENIOR OR DISABLED GLEN COVE APPLICANTS TO FUND HOME IMPROVEMENT NEEDS

April 28, 2015…Mayor Reginald Spinello, chairman of the Glen Cove Community Development Agency (CDA) announced today that additional funding is available to assist senior or disabled Glen Cove homeowners with home improvements. “Over the past year we were able to help two Glen Cove senior citizens with vital home repairs that enhanced their quality of life at home,” said Mayor Spinello. “With our new funding we can now meet the needs of more individuals who require critical home repairs but are financially challenged to do the repairs on their own.”

The Glen Cove Residential Rehabilitation Program is available to income eligible senior citizens age 60+ and/or handicapped persons to make home repairs consisting of energy conservation, remediate code violations and provide handicap accommodations. The applicant must have lived in their home for a minimum of one (1) year, meet income guidelines and be current in the payment of property and school taxes. A pre-screening application is available in English and Spanish on the Agency’s website: www.glencovecda.org click on Programs and then click on Residential Rehab Application. “Funding is limited and will be provided on a first come first serve basis,” added Myralee Machol, CDA Executive Director.
