Mayor Spinello and Glen Cove’s City Council honored the Glen Cove High School Rifle Team on their impressive year this past Tuesday, March 24^th.  The GCHS Rifle Team dominated Nassau County with a perfect 9-0 record and for the first time in thirteen years won the Section 8 Championship.  In addition to their impressive record of dominance in the County, the team set an all-time school record with a combined team score of 734.  After taking the Section 8 title the team went on to compete in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Rifle Championship at West Point Military Academy and finished in 3^rd for the entire state.  “We are proud of our exceptional students and their keen rifle skills.  I wouldn’t doubt if at least a few members of the 2015 team go on to compete at higher levels,” Mayor Spinello said.
