Dominic Martone was officially appointed to the position of Police Officer at the City Council meeting last Tuesday, March 24^th.  Mayor Spinello, Chief William Whitton, and Deputy Chief Christopher Ortiz all congratulated Martone as they presented him with a new badge.  Martone is currently a Police Officer with NYPD and also volunteers his time to Glen Cove EMS and the Glen Cove Fire Department.  Martone held an impressive 4.0 grade point average while attaining a Master’s Degree of Criminal Justice from CW Post.  Chief Whitton was quoted as saying, “the community and the police department are very fortunate to add Dominic Martone to our force in our continuing effort to provide superior law enforcements service to the community in a community based policing concept.”
