During the January 13, 2015 Glen Cove City Council meeting, Mayor Reginald Spinello and the City Council honored two local women who are amateur boxers and represent the Glen Cove Boxing Club. Viviana Melgar (a 17-year-old Champion in the 125lb. weight class and Wendy Sincuir (a 29-year-old Champion in the152 lb. weight class). The two champs won the Pure Breed Amateur Boxing Tournament held recently in the Bronx while representing the Glen Cove Boxing Club.
