Glen Cove Firehouse Opens Its Doors to Community

On Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014 the City of Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department held their annual Open House. This is always a fun-filled and educational event which features tips on fire prevention; demonstrations on how firefighters tackle house, car and stove fires; and how firefighters conduct the evacuation of buildings. Children of all ages enjoyed fire truck rides, a tour of the firehouse, and getting to know our City’s firefighters. In addition, our firefighters remind us to check the batteries in our smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
Glen Cove Volunteer Firefighter Jerry Morales; City Councilwoman Pam Panzenbeck; Joseph Capobianco; firefighter Bridget Niece; Chief of Auxiliary Police Mike DiLeo; Firefighter Tom Underhill; Fire Chief Joe Solomito; and 2nd Assistant Chief Bob Marino.
Mayor Reginald Spinello participated in the Glen Cove Volunteer Fire Department’s demonstration of the repelling of someone to safety from a multi-story building.
