From Mayor Reginald Spinello

In an instant, everyone’s daily routine and everything we knew as normal was stolen from us by terrorists. Taken from their families were nearly 3,000 people at the World Trade Center; the passengers on American Airlines Flight 11; United Airlines Flight 175; American Airlines Flight 77; the staff at the Pentagon; and the passengers on United Airlines Flight 93 in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. Today we also pay tribute to the 343 New York City firefighters; the 23 New York Police Officers; the 37 Port Authority Police Officers; the 15 EMTs; and the 3 Court Officers who were killed that day.
