| Glen Cove was ready, 500 passenger ferry entered Glen Cove Creek and the dock smoothly!!! |
The City of Glen Cove is relieved to hear that an agreement has been reached between the LIRR and the MTA and that the potential workers strike has been called off effective this afternoon, per Gov. Cuomo press conference. During the times when it seemed that a strike was likely the City worked very closely with the MTA and senior elected officials to ensure an effective contingency plan was in place for our residents, whose concerns are always our top priority.
The Mayor’s staff quickly initiated an action plan with input from Glen Cove Police Department, Glen Cove Chief Harbormaster, City Attorney, and others to address the critical requirements to offer an alternative commute while minimizing any inconvenience to our residents. This event has generated significant interest in the Glen Cove ferry service planned for 2015. Please keep up to date with these developments by visiting www.GlenCoveFerry.org
