Glen Cove Cobras Launch Season
The Glen Cove Cobras Senior Softball team is pictured with Mayor Reginald Spinello and Darcy Belyea, the City’s Parks and Recreation Director, on opening day last week. The Cobras are members of the Long Island Senior Softball Association (LISSA) which consists of 20 teams from both Nassau and Suffolk County. The Cobras launched a game schedule which includes 64 slow pitch softball games played from May through Labor Day after which the League conducts playoffs. Co-managers Burt Singer and Mike Maher remind potential players that, “You don’t stop playing because you grow old. You grow old because you stop playing.”
