April 17, 2015… Glen Cove students, parents, teachers, and city officials gathered on Wednesday, April 15th at St. Rocco’s Church for the kickoff of The Bully Proof Project. The goal of the project is to raise awareness about bullying and to educate all levels of the community on this critical issue. “Nationwide studies have shown that 28% of students are bullied in school and Glen Cove is not immune to this trend. Programs like The Bully Proof Project can help raise awareness and engage the community to develop strategies and programs for bullying prevention and intervention,” said Mayor Spinello. Speakers and attendees shared ideas about how to make Glen Cove a bully-free community.
