Adding to the initiatives in his pledge to focus on quality of life issues, Glen Cove Mayor Reginald A. Spinello, in conjunction with the City’s Police Department, has launched “Operation Neighborhood Pride.” After mapping out a plan of action with Police Chief William Whitton, Deputy Chief Robert MacDonald, and Lieutenant Chris Ortiz, a full schedule of listening tours has begun. In the past two weeks, members of the police department joined the Mayor for the first tour in the Landing neighborhood. They intend to visit each Glen Cove community.

Mayor Spinello said, “There is no better way to get information about what’s going on in a neighborhood than by asking the people who live there. We chose the Landing as our starting point because of recent events. My plan is to walk every Glen Cove neighborhood and listen to residents’ concerns.”
